The Vision Of Your Intimate Wedding

We always wanted an outdoor wedding in nature rather than a standard function room or church. Laura loves the idea of the old tradition of handfasting and finds the idea really romantic.

Scotland has the rugged wild beauty and St Mary’s wedding space is a really cool venue with a really relaxed vibe, which is what we want for our wedding day. We want an informal, fun day with family.

The planning process of your intimate wedding in St Mary’s Space: What was the most stressful, and which part did you enjoy the most?

It’s been really straightforward as St Mary’s offers an elopement package and Charlotte has looked after us, taking care of everything. We only booked our wedding 4 months in advance and we were worried that no suppliers would have availability and family wouldn’t be able to make it but everything has worked out so well and we can’t wait to see what our wonderful suppliers come up with.

The wedding dress is probably the most stressful as it’s been too late to have one made to my measurements so I’m having to take my own measurements and buy a sample dress from the designer I like, which is non-returnable!! I never thought I’d be choosing my wedding dress without even trying any on first and putting all my faith into pictures on the internet and my own measurements!

Why did you choose St Mary’s Space for your intimate wedding?

The venue is really cool, with Luke being a musician and St Mary’s being used as a recording space, we thought it fitted well.

I have always dreamed of getting married outside but with St Mary’s we loved that if we had to move indoors due to bad weather then the inside is just as good as the surrounding scenery, without any expensive decorations.

The elopement package is great, it’s taken all of the stress out of planning the day and it’s so close to areas in the Scottish Highlands we’ve always wanted to visit.
