The Hermitage Elopement – Spring Scotland Forest Elopement – Nicole & Alan

Perthshire, The Hermitage elopement… my dream came true. Have I already mentioned that I love forest elopement in Scotland? I think this is my favourite place. The next places are castles, mountains and beautiful gardens.
The day before the Hermitage elopement, Nicole wrote to me that, unfortunately, I would not be able to be present at the wedding ceremony. It was after 7 pm when I got it. We quickly came up with a plan B – I offered to take a vintage table, candles and candlesticks, cutlery. Nicole sent me pictures of the bouquet and described what their “wedding cake” would look like.

We met outside the Perth Registrar Of Births Marriages & Deaths after the ceremony. We walked over to the viewpoint on the River Tay. Alan pulled a golden padlock from his pocket, on which Nicole had written their initials on a black marker. They padlocked the metal fence. Nicole threw the key into the river.

We went to the cars and headed to the Hermitage, a beautiful forest near Dunkeld. I visited the Hermitage for the first time on October 30th, last year. Oh, it was raining mercilessly then. I was walking through the forest and dreaming of photographing elopement in the Hermitage, one of the most beautiful Scottish forests.

The sky was covered with grey clouds, but it wasn’t raining. Nicole and Alan walked hand in hand. They stopped every now and then. The Hermitage was blissfully quiet. The nearby river enjoyed the spring afternoon, as did Nicole and Alan.

We made our way slowly to the viewpoint at the Hermitage. Later we turned into the second forest path. We walked over to our cars to take food, champagne, a table and a wooden decoration box. PaweĊ‚, my best companion on the way to fulfil my dreams, helped me.
We found a seat and set up a table. Nicole, Alan and two best friends who also witnessed their wedding put together a cheesecake. They decorated it with fresh raspberries. They placed crackers and strawberry slices on a brown plate. There was a sauce in the jar, there was a container of olives nearby. They put the champagne on a shelf under the table.

The clouds above us grew darker. Nicole, Alan and their friends toast and began to feast. Larger and larger drops began to fall from the sky. The Hermitage elopement ended with spring rain.

I love forests. They are peaceful and tall trees provide natural protection against the wind that is almost commonplace in Scotland. If you are planning a Scotland forest elopement, simply contact me. We will create magic together!
