Intimate Cairngorms Elopement in the wooden cabin, Scotland

Keelin & Matthew’s intimate Cairngorms elopement was very special. And very intimate. And much anticipated. Keelin and Matthew haven’t seen each other in nine months. A few days before departure, the courier lost important documents that Keelin needed to legally elope in the wooden cabin in the Cairngorms, Scotland. From the very beginning, we squeezed our fingers tightly to make sure the next ones were delivered on time. Keelin flew out of Canada at the last minute.

On Sunday morning, Pawel and I left home early. We looked forward to seeing Keelin and Matthew. And a wooden cabin in the woods where the intimate Cairngorms elopement ceremony and their honeymoon were to be held. We have arrived. I opened the metal gate and Paweł drove up a bit. I locked it up. I went to the waiter, this time a wooden gate. I opened it so that Paweł could drive to the parking lot under the wooden cabin in the forest.

A huge smile appeared on my face – the wooden cabin looked like from a Grimm’s fairy tale. Dark pine wood, light shining in the windows. And next to it there is a small loch and a fireplace.

Ok, now let’s move on to the most important part. I wrote that this intimate Cairngorms elopement was very special? Oh yes, at the very beginning. Well, it was, very much. The mere fact that Keelin and Matthew didn’t see each other for that long was very emotional. It’s nothing that they talked to each other about every day. It’s not the same to be able to touch, stroke, hug or kiss someone. It was felt that they both missed each other very much and were so happy that they were finally together. Like the moment Keelin came up to Matthew, she hugged him tightly, kissed him and said “see you soon.” And then she disappeared into the room where she was getting ready for the ceremony.

The rooms, where they were getting ready separated were facing each other. I spent time with Keelin first, talking, laughing, and listening to the music she played on her playlist. Later with Matthew, who had carefully combed his long hair, he put on a leather jacket and sat down in a wooden chair. I left him there to relax and started down the hall to Keelin. I looked back once and saw Matthew rereading his vows for Keelin. The light that fell on him from the window was magical.

The moment Matthew saw Keelin for the first time in a beautiful black wedding dress was very beautiful. The smile on his face and the way Matthew looked at Keelin said it all.

The pinky promise they both made at the ceremony. Such a very special and important gesture for both of them.

The ducks they happily fed. They explained to us that they are an integral part of the cabin in the forest. Every day they go out to feed them. They also did it right after the little feast they had in the cosy kitchen.

The ruins of the castle they discovered the day before and they really wanted to go there and take pictures.

Letters they wrote to each other many years ago and exchanged to read them aloud in peace under a tree.

A soft whisper that was interrupted from time to time by a burst of laughter.

The champagne they drank from metal goblets.

Everything was special. Each moment, gesture, look, touch, smile, detail. It was a very magical and romantic, intimate Cairngorms elopement in the wooden cabin in Scotland.
