Geneva and Toby’s Killyon Manor elopement wedding was very special. When I close my eyes, I go back to the sunny day in mid-July. A closed white gate and an alley that seemed to lead nowhere. Beautiful ruins of a chapel surrounded by a leafy forest. The rays of the sun broke through the leaves and danced with amusement on the forest litter and the walls of the ruin. A cellist who sat on the right side of the entrance to the chapel. Soft music that echoed in the air and made you want to close your eyes, sit down and listen.
In the chapel, there was a table decorated with green moss, pieces of wood, fresh flowers and candles placed in small jars. Geneva, carrying a pyramid-shaped glass container with rings hanging inside. Oh, and the costumes of Geneva and Toby – I felt like I found myself on the pages of Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.
The tiny details that made a cohesive whole and made this elopement wedding in Killyon Manor so special. And so unique. Emotions surrounded us like a cobweb thread. The hand itself wants to go towards the heart as I write this post. As it was during the ceremony when we celebrated the moment Toby and Geneva exchanged rings. Yes, I wanted to close my eyes as well as the rest of their nearest and dearest, stand still and not make any noise. For the first time, the shutter in the new camera seemed too loud, although it is still quieter than the latter, which hung at my side on the other strap.
