Glen Etive Elopement – Michelle & John

“What shoes should I wear?” A question that a couple asks me very often. Sometimes I answer this question myself, without notice. Comfortable. Nothing high-heeled. Those that will not get wet quickly. After all, we will be in the mountains. And the Scottish Highlands, covered in moss, absorb moisture like a bath sponge. Besides, here and there streams form, which flows down the water from the top of the mountains. And always at least one pair just in case. Shoes for hiking in the mountains, wellington boots with a good grip, etc. They will not be visible when you are going to wear a long wedding dress. Besides, who doesn’t dream about wandering around the mountains like a deer for a while? Or to run along with your beloved the road James Bond himself driven in Aston Martin? No, you wouldn’t be able to do this in high-heeled shoes…

I also always ask couples to run. Yes, always. Because then the dress is arranged beautifully, your hair is dancing in the wind! Besides, it’s another good reason to hold your loved one by the hand, look deep into his eyes and imagine that you are running away together, and I don’t know why, but I always associate this run with elopement. Plus the dramatic Scottish Highlands surrounding you.

Moreover – in comfortable shoes, you will go anywhere. Well, almost …. You’ll go through a narrow stream. You will climb the rock. You will walk along the forest path without fear that the heel will get stuck in the ground or between branches.
And I forgot about the most important thing – you will be able to put on socks! Yes, you read it right. Warm, woollen socks.

Glen Etive is one of the most iconic peaks in the Glencoe Valley. It is a beautiful place for an elopement, intimate wedding or even adventurous couples photoshoot. What I like the most is when the clouds race along its top, gently hugging its sharp edges. And yes, Glen Etive is a perfect place for your elopement!
