Accommodation – Hotel Serenissima – the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten and a good location (in the middle of Venice, close to everywhere).
We got to Venice Treviso by Ryanair and then by bus straight to Venice.
We chose March as we like to discover new places when it’s not so crowdy and even in that month, it seemed to be too busy (to be honest I can not imagine what it looks like during summertime).
DAY 1 – VENICE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER – Venice, Murano, Burano / Italy
We spent that day wandering charming Venetian streets, enjoying famous canals, bridges and gondolas and eating traditional tiramisu in I Tre Mercanti, Castello. In the evening we tried to find some small restaurant to drink a glass of wine and yes, we got lost – but if you want to get lost, Venice is the city to do this.

DAY 2 – ROMANTIC VENICE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER – Venice, Murano, Burano / Italy
The main point of the second day was ice creams from Gelatoteca Suso, an incredible sculpture of human hands (“Support” created by Lorenzo Quinn, the son of a famous actor Antony Quinn), Liberia Acqua Alta, crepes in Cocaeta (the best one I’ve ever eaten) and Ghetto. But first, we went for a coffee at a small cafe close to I Giardini Della Biennale, then Arsenale, Della Biennale di Venezia.
That day we discovered also an amazing viewpoint close to the Ponte di Rialto (T Fondaco Dei Tedeschi).

DAY 3 – VENICE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER – Venice, Murano, Burano / Italy
It was a crazy day because the day before we found out that there’ll be a worker’s strike and there won’t be any water buses to Burano and Murano. But we didn’t give up. Pawel and I woke up very early, ate one of the best-scrambled eggs, and bruschettas for breakfast and quickly walked to Fondamente Nuove. After two days of wandering between small and narrow alleys, we got there without any complications. And there it was – a beautiful white and yellow water bus waiting for us and other tourists to take us to Murano (world-famous for its ancient glass-making tradition) and then Burano.
Murano is small enough to walk from top to bottom in a few hours, so we just did that.
Burano, a small island known for colourful houses and homemade lace, is even smaller than Murano, so there’s no reason not to walk along every canal and down every street. That day the weather was amazing, the sunlight touched our skin. We found a small cafe where we ate tiramisu and drank Italian cappuccino and espresso with brandy.
We finished that day in Farini Bakery drinking Spritz and eating ciabatta.
Spritz:
3 parts of Prosecco
2 parts of Aperol
1 part of soda water
ice cubes, orange slice (to decorate) and optional green olives
Fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour in the Aperol, top with Prosecco and soda water. Stir well. Serve with the orange slice and, if liked, the olive, pierced with a skewer.

DAY 4 – VENICE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER – Venice, Murano, Burano/Italy
That day we visited for the last time Piazza San Marco, Farini bakery and Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo. On the way back to the airport we saw the Venetian market where you might buy fresh fruit, vegetables and freshly caught fish and seafood.
During these few days, we ate delicious Italian food, drank the best Italian cappuccino and wine, get lost several times in narrow alleys just to discover that we had already been there a few hours ago. We also had the opportunity to see the daily habits of the residents (deliveries to the shops, collecting rubbish, operation of police and ambulance).
