Romantic Winter Elopement Wedding in the Scottish Highlands

Maggie and Robert’s winter elopement wedding in the Scottish Highlands was very romantic.

Maggie and Robert met a few months ago through the Bubble dating app (I didn’t even know it existed). Maggie came to Scotland right after the first lockdown. She had fallen in love with this place a few years earlier and came back as often as she could. This time she found work and love here.
It started with comforting her friend, who met Maggie for gossip and a glass of wine after another failed date. Maggie unlocked her account on Bubble and they started browsing the accounts together. They scrolled and commented. Until the photo of Robert appeared on the phone. She paused longer with his account and began reading the description. Out loud. Her friend laughed that his description sounded as if Maggie had written it herself. And so began Maggie and Robert’s love story.

We met in a cosy cottage in the centre of Inverness. White walls, wooden furniture, a fireplace in the living room and a wall decorated with stacked pieces of wood. In the city centre, however, there was peace and quiet.

On a winter Sunday, just before the next storm came, we travelled together in search of a waterfall near the NC 500 in the Scottish Highlands. On the way, we passed the slopes of the mountains where herds of deer grazed. The closer we got, the more of them we could see. Some of them stood very close to the road. It was the most wonderful experience for all of us. It turned out that Maggie and Robert are also great lovers of these magnificent wild creatures.

At one point, white snowflakes started falling from the sky. A bit wet, so as soon as you touched the heather and grass, they melted. It was beautiful and romantic. Perfect weather for their winter elopement wedding in the Scottish Highlands.
