Loch Muick elopement… Unpredictable, adventurous, beautiful, romantic, snowy, windy, unforgettable … This is how Sara & Mark’s adventurous Scottish elopement wedding at Loch Muick Cairngorms National Park can be described in a few words.
“Seems to me is there more snow on the mountains?” Pawel said as we approached the site. He was right. We were there a week earlier, at the end of April. Only a week. May. Snow has fallen in Cairngorms National Park creating a magical atmosphere.
We got out of the car and took a walk with Pawel towards the lake. Everything looked amazing around here! We couldn’t take our eyes off the snow-capped peaks. We were happy like little children. We took some photos along the way. It was approaching 2:15 pm. We went back to the parking lot. Mark and his family were due to arrive in less than half an hour.

They came. Mark was carrying a picnic basket in his hand. They made their way slowly towards Loch Muick.
Dark grey clouds were approaching from the distance, which created an even more magical atmosphere for Sara & Mark’s adventurous Scottish elopement.
Pawel went with Marek and his family to the lakeshore. I went back to the car park and waited for Sarah and her mother. I saw them in the distance. First, a tiny white point was coming my way. Gray clouds were also getting closer. The last turn before Loch Muick. A strong, cold wind had risen. White, tiny snowflakes began to fall from the sky. Sharon hugged her daughter tighter.
They walked together under a huge black umbrella, which turned to the other side under the influence of a strong wind. I ran and, holding it tightly, we set it in the direction of the blowing wind. The umbrella has returned to its natural shape. Sharon quickly walked over to Sarah and hugged her tightly, trying to protect her from the cold and snow at least a little. Sara’s dad was walking from the side of the lake. He wanted to help them fight wind and snow.
Wooden bridge and finally straight to the site Sara & Mark’s adventurous Scottish elopement at the shore of Loch Muick. When Sarah and Mark looked at each other, they laughed sincerely. I guess they didn’t expect such weather either. And Scottish weather is famous for its volatility …
The elopement ceremony on the Loch Muick shore was so beautiful!
