Elopement Photographer Scotland – St Mary’s Space wedding, the secret wedding venue in Scottish Highlands
For me, elopement photographer Scotland, being able to photograph an elopement at St Mary’s Space, a secret wedding venue in Scottish Highlands was a huge dream. The old church converted by Charlotte and her husband into an intimate wedding venue is off the beaten track. Surrounded by the majestic Scottish Highlands, the nearby flowing river is a lovely place for your elopement. In the wooden cabin, you can prepare for the ceremony in peace and spend a few days here.
The alarm clock rang at 3:30 am. It’s been a long time since I got up with such joy at such an early hour. It is today, a workshop organized by Ella Mai Elopements in the place where I dreamed to photograph elopements. Sometimes you have to help your luck. And I was really lucky with the wedding workshops at St Mary’s Space. When there were places in early March, I couldn’t go – vow renewal in Edinburgh. When the couple changed the date due to the pandemic, there were no vacancies at the workshops. A week before the convention date, I entered Instagram. Ella posted in Insta stories that there is one spot on April 27. Yes! I wrote to her quickly and that’s how I found myself in the perfect place.
I would like to write that I ate my breakfast calmly. But all the time I felt this pleasant thrill knowing that in a few hours I would be at a secret wedding venue, surrounded by the beautiful Scottish mountains. I took my suitcase, a bag with cameras and food, kissed Pawel goodbye and left the house. I attached the navigation to the windshield of my car and set off for setting off on an adventure to new parts of Scotland.

St Mary’s Space made a huge impression on me. Until now, I had only seen it in photos and already then I knew that I wanted to photograph an elopement there.
St Mary’s Space, run by two very talented and amazing people, Charlotte and Jamie, is a secret wedding venue located about half an hour from Oban and less than 40 minutes from Glencoe. A narrow road leads to it. The wooden cabin window overlooks the Scottish Highlands river flowing across the road. If you are lucky you will see deer walking around.
You can organize the ceremony in the quirky and charming chapel inside the old church or outside, under one of the trees growing on the grounds of St Mary’s Space.
The wooden cabin looks lovely. Downstairs there is a kitchen, a living room with a beautiful view of the garden and mountains. Up the stairs, you will enter a cosy space where there is a sleeping place.
